美國Catphan 500 CT性能測試模體已得到全球知名CT生產(chǎn)公司的認同，都用它來標示CT機的成像性能。該模體較依據(jù)AAPM 1977年1號報告生產(chǎn)加工的注水模體有很多優(yōu)點：因是固體模體，沒有漏水的問題；儲運箱能當模體支架，模體能探出掃描床外；低對比度分辨力模體由同一種物質(zhì)不同密度材料制成等。
